Yorkshire-based Rixonway Kitchens has over 30 years’ experience in supplying kitchens to affordable housing and the public sector and is the only UK kitchen manufacturer dedicated to community regeneration.

Rixonway manufactures in excess of 12,000 rigid units per week and employs over 420 people at its 170,000 sq ft state-of-the-art manufacturing head quarters. Its designers and project managers provide tenants with a full ‘retail experience’, visiting each home to provide on-site individual kitchen CAD design planning.

To reduce its environmental impact, Rixonway has set itself strict environmental performance targets, policies and strategies. All wood used in Rixonway’s manufacturing process is accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council accreditation (FSC) and wood waste from its production process is salvaged and utilised to create biomass fuel.

Rixonway holds the ISO14001 accreditation for all its environmental procedures.

Rixonway is committed to combating worklessness and has partnered with a number of organisations to provide jobs and opportunities. The company launched The Rixonway Academy in January 2009 which works with local communities to develop and train engineers of the future. Rixonway is set to employ its first apprentices in January 2010.
