    Lead Officer

    Alistair is Chief Executive of HQN which he founded in 1997. He has worked in housing since 1983 for a variety of councils, housing associations, building societies and companies (including a top five accountancy firm). Alistair has led research projects for the government and regulators on improving housing performance and achieving value for money. His teams have assisted numerous ALMOs to improve their star ratings. He researched and wrote a toolkit on governance in housing that the TSA Chief Executive supplied a foreword to. Alistair works with the TSA on the National Conversation to set standards that should be applied to ALMOs. Alistair has led the National Federation of ALMOs since its inception.

    Policy Director

    Gwyneth has worked in housing for over 34 years, 19 of which have been in housing policy in local authority trade bodies. Working initially for the London Boroughs Association and then the Association of London Government, she has worked at the national level for ten years, firstly at the Local Government Association and then at HQN. She has been dedicated to the work of the NFA since shortly after its inception. Gwyneth has extensive experience, particularly on housing. She has an outstanding track record in implementing policy work, producing submissions and consultation responses on behalf of the NFA members and working with CLG officials and other organisations. Gwyneth has helped build the NFA into a nationally recognised trade body that has been able to influence government policy and legislation.

  • Chloe Fletcher - Policy Manage

    Policy Manager

    Chloe has worked in the social housing sector for 12 years, starting in housing management with JSS Pinnacle as a trainee housing officer whilst completing a housing masters and diploma at London School of Economics. In 2000 she moved into housing policy and worked on affordable housing and housing finance policy on behalf of the London boroughs, initially for London Housing Unit and prior to joining HQN, as Head of Affordable Housing and Investment at London Councils. She has been the Policy Manager for the NFA since 2007 and has covered areas such as Financial Inclusion, ALMO relations with TMOs and most recently the review of council housing finance.

    Office Manager

    Before joining HQN, Maya ran the consular section of the British Embassy in her native Turkmenistan. Since 2006 she has acted as NFA Office Manager covering the operational side of the NFA and supporting the Policy Director. She provides support to members of the NFA and runs the NFA office. Her responsibilities include organising events and meetings for the NFA, including the Annual Conference and AGM; servicing the NFA Board and Executive Steering Group meetings; and running national ALMO communications group meetings.

    Administrator

    Jessica is the NFA administrator. She is the first point of contact for telephone enquiries; maintains NFA records; distributes NFA publications and uploads them to the website; administers NFA events; prepares papers for meetings; deals with correspondence and other related duties.

    Public affairs

    Geoff is the Director of the Public Affairs Company that has provided public affairs services to the National Federation of ALMOs. These include establishing and servicing an All Party Parliamentary Group for ALMOs, producing briefings, organising meetings with Ministers and MPs, working on legislation and providing advice to individual ALMOs on communication with their MPs. The consultancy has helped ALMOs greatly increase their recognition and status within Government and Parliament. Geoff was formerly Member of Parliament for Bradford North. Prior to this, he worked with a Bradford-based public relations company and before that at Conservative Central Office for four years including with the Conservative Research Department, where amongst other roles he worked with local government groups.

    Communications and PR

    Kate manages communications strategy and PR work on behalf of the NFA. Until recently Kate was the editor of Inside Housing. She is now a freelance journalist writing on housing and social policy for a range of national publications. Kate has reported on the housing sector for more than a decade and before that worked on a number of regional weekly and daily newspapers.

    Communications and PR

    Peter is Managing Director of Acceleris Marketing Communications. Since 2006 Acceleris team worked on public relations and communications for the National Federation of ALMOs. Acceleris services include organisation of the annual awards ceremony, producing newsletters and annual reviews and other NFA publications, advice on communication of NFA messages and media liaison and press releases. Peter is a former senior Times journalist and is responsible for strategy of communications and PR services, delivering media training courses, raising sponsorship and delivering best practice in communications masterclasses.
