2020 Vision
Numerous delays to Brexit, parliamentary drama of the highest order, a new prime minister, yet another housing minister and a general election… and then COVID-19. During one of the most extraordinary years in living memory, both politically and on the social and public health front, the NFA and its members kept calm and carried on.
This year we celebrate the centenary of the Addison Act. The 1919 post-war legislation underpinned the first wave of ‘homes fit for heroes’ and recognised the role of local authorities in building these homes. Our Annual Review tells how the sector continues to rise to the challenge, providing new homes, and excellent housing management and related services to tenants.
Our Annual Review reflects on what has been an extremely challenging and sad year for the social housing sector, with the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower. We look at what the ALMO sector has been doing this year in the context of Grenfell Tower, and what is likely to happen over the coming year.
