Annual review 2019 - 2020

This year we celebrate the centenary of the Addison Act. The 1919 post-war legislation underpinned the first wave of ‘homes fit for heroes’ and recognised the role of local authorities in building these homes. Annual Review 2016-2017

In 2016 the housing policy environment contained a number of elements which we felt would impact negatively on social housing. The political environment at the time also made us believe it would be implemented forcefully over the term of the Parliament until everything changed. They say a week is a long time in politics so the whole year has been like an eruption. The EU referendum not only produced an unexpected result for many, but brought forward “another Government” with different ideas about social housing policy.
