Housing & employment

The NFA is a member of the Housing and Employment Taskforce, convened by Communities that Work. The taskforce includes membership from across the social housing, and employment & work sector, alongside representatives from DWP and DLUHC.

The purpose of the taskforce is to ensure support for employment across social housing resident bases through and beyond COVID-19. The Taskforce has shone a light on core employment issues, developed the award winning national ‘Opportunity Guarantee’ campaign, and influenced the Plan for Jobs announced by the Chancellor.

The Taskforce is currently working on a piece of research, undertaken by the Institute for Employment Studies, and the Learning & Work Institute, which will look at the data on social housing and employment, and the work that the social housing sector undertakes to support residents.
