Domestic abuse

The NFA is a proud member of the National Housing and Domestic Abuse Group. Chaired by DAHA (Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance), the group brings together representatives from across the housing and VAWG (Violence against Women and Girls) sectors to share best practice and influence policy and practice on domestic abuse and housing in England. More information about the national group can be found here. 

As part of the National Housing and Domestic Abuse Group, the NFA has signed up to the Whole Housing Approach as best practice for housing in relation to domestic abuse.  We have also supported a number of consultation responses and submissions from the group.

The NFA is a member of the National Housing and Domestic Abuse Policy and Practice Group. This letter from the group to Felicity Buchan MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Housing and Homelessness) calls for a stronger policy approach that guarantees targeted, gender-informed outreach support for every woman experiencing rough sleeping.

August 2022: Correspondence

The National Housing and Domestic Abuse Policy and Practice Group has written to Eddie Hughes, Minister for Housing and Rough Sleeping, to raise concerns of the potential impact on victims and survivors of domestic abuse of the Renters’ Reform white paper.
