NFA Annual Survey

Each year the NFA surveys its members to collate data and insight that summarise the huge range of services that ALMOs deliver for their communities.
Showcasing the ALMO approach to effective housing management and tenant engagement, it also tracks council home supply, recording both members’ successful new build programmes and acquisitions and the number of former tenants who have been able to become homeowners through the Right to Buy scheme.

The Department of Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC), the Regulator of Social Housing and Housing Ombudsman have been focused on improving the quality of existing homes and housing management services through highlighting good practice and naming and shaming poor landlords. The Rochdale Boroughwide Housing case of the death of Awaab Ishak has focused minds in relation to damp and mould, while the media (both local and national) is increasingly scrutinising the sector and highlighting examples of service failure. ‘Getting your house in order’ has become an imperative for the whole sector.
