Social Housing and Employment: Data, Intervention, Impact: Autumn report briefing
Communities that Work, National Housing Federation (NHF) and National Federation of ALMOs (NFA) are pleased to invite you to a webinar exploring our jointly-commissioned research into social housing and employment.
The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted our health, communities and how we live and work. Lower participation, higher economic inactivity and increasing polarisation in work will worsen inequalities that already existed before the pandemic. We know that social housing residents are significantly more disadvantaged than many other groups and more likely to face labour market disadvantages.
Our research, undertaken by the Institute for Employment Studies and Learning & Working Institute, presents a comprehensive picture of employment and economic activity in social housing communities. It also looks in-depth at six housing association and ALMO case studies to explore the work that social housing providers do to support tenants, and makes recommendations to ensure that the sector can continue and expand this work.
The programme will include Lynsey Sweeney, Managing Director of Communities that Work; Stephen Evans, Chief Executive of the Learning & Work Institute, Tony Wilson, Director of the Institute for Employment Studies; and two of our case study areas to share good practice and ideas.
The webinar is free to attend, and places can be booked here: https://forms.office.com/r/ij8rrkUBaV
Once the booking has been received, you will receive a confirmation email. Joining links to the webinar will sent approximately 10 days before the event.
