The residents’ group were thrilled to win funding of £6,096 from Severn Trent Water’s Community Fund, and Severn Trent engaged Community Gardening Services (CGS) to help develop the garden.
It has been designed for level access with raised beds that are easy to maintain and view, and has seating, a water feature and a pergola. Saxon residents were eager to help with planting and watering and deciding where to place the furniture. It has been completed in time for visitors to enjoy the warmer weather and residents are looking forward to spending time there.
SCH Chief Executive Fiona Hughes said: “I was so thrilled to learn about the success of Saxon Court’s application to secure funding for their wellness garden.
“The funding provided by Severn Trent and the team of hardworking volunteer gardeners from CGS have helped deliver a fantastic garden space. The wellbeing of our residents is so important to SCH and this garden will make a huge difference to the mental and physical health of the residents at Saxon Court.
“A huge thank you and well done to everyone involved in this fabulous project.”
