Home Office fire safety EEIS consulation response

The NFA has responded to the Home Office’s consultation on the Emergency Evacuation Information Sharing (EEIS) proposals. This follows the Home Office’s decision to not introduce Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) to social housing at this time.

Overall, we agree that the new EEIS proposal focusing initially on the buildings with the greatest fire safety risk is the right approach at this time. We also welcome the proposals to develop a toolkit to support Responsible Persons to fulfill their duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 which we believe will help spread good practice across the country.
