22 February 2024: The UK urgently needs a housing plan from central government – this one or the next – that plucks high-flown election promises out of the air and puts them firmly on the ground. Preferably with a front door and a secure tenancy.
18 January 2024: COUNCILS get to propose and dispose – that is democracy. But we have been persuaded that we need to make a stand for our members and their parent councils’ choice to manage their social housing through an ALMO.
December 2023: As the housing sector takes stock of progress since the findings of the Better Social Housing Review, the NFA updates its own action plan.
12 December 2023: Headline findings today from new analysis by housing data specialists Housemark show ALMO management of council homes outperforms in-house local authority housing departments across all 22 of the new Tenant Satisfaction Measures.
More detailed data findings from this internal report will be published in the new year.
